About the event

This event has grown out of a deep passion of mine to grow a sense of community around mothers and babies.  In my attempts to gather said community over many years now, I have come to see that at every stage of life we benefit from being with people both older and younger than ourselves. I know people who don't have children of their own or whose children have grown up and left home, who love to be with babies and young children, and I see what relief and joy this brings to oftentimes weary parents. This is truly a warm invitation to ANYONE who enjoys singing, or listening to others sing; and being together with people of all ages, from all walks of life.

The songs are drawn from world traditions and are accompanied by Laura on the harmonium - an Indian instrument that tends to have a very soothing and calming effect on children and adults alike! They are simple repetitive, meditative songs that anyone can learn quickly. Please feel free to bring along percussion instruments to play along with!

We will gather and first share food together. Please bring something vegetarian to contribute, labelled clearly with common allergens. We will aim to gather in our circle to sing from 5.45 until 6.30, and complete with some community clearing up/saying goodbyes!

Booking is appreciated but not essential.

Please invite your friends and family!
