About the event

Let us remember the art of coming together (in real life!). To share our laughter and our tears, to share the mess and the beauty of every day life with our children... to sing and rock and sway through our gladness and our grief. To pause for a moment here and there and simply notice whatever is present in and around us. To be nourished and seen by one another.

This is a gathering with little formal structure. Arrive when you can, leave when you need to. There will be hot tea and a hug awaiting you (i'll always check first though, in case you'd rather not!). We will sing a few simple songs, accompanied by the soothing sound of the harmonium. There will be time and space to simply chat and get to know other mothers, babies, people... Where possible I will lead us in brief moments of stillness, taking time to appreciate and take in the fullness of the present moment - life can too easily pass us by!

The event is primarily aimed at creating and supporting community for mothers and their small children, however everyone is truly welcome - partners, older children, pregnant women, grandparents, friends of any age. The richest communities are those that embrace diversity, and I have witnessed many times how the interaction of generations nourishes everyone - far more than just another 'mum and baby group'. So please do invite along anyone you know who would love to come and hang out with some babies and mothers, it's easy to forget how much that is craved by those who don't have it in their daily lives!
